Compliance Inspections and Calibration

Compliance Inspections and Calibration

Q: How do I configure what needs to be checked during inspections?

Calibration points are configured on equipment categories, not on individual equipment. Go to Configuration → Categories, select the relevant category, and add calibration points in the dedicated tab. Each calibration point defines what data type is collected (numeric measurement, pass/fail check, photo, or instruction), the valid range for measurements, and whether it's required. When you create a compliance inspection job for any equipment in that category, these calibration points automatically populate the inspection form.

Q: What data types can I capture during inspections?

The inspection system supports five data types. Integer and float types capture numeric measurements with optional minimum and maximum tolerance ranges. Pass-fail boolean checks are simple yes/no validations. Photo capture lets technicians document conditions visually through the mobile interface. Instructions display procedural information that inspectors must acknowledge they've read. Each data type serves different inspection requirements whilst keeping the interface simple for field technicians.

Q: How do I handle measurements that don't have pass/fail criteria?

Some measurements are informational only and don't have specific tolerance ranges. When configuring the calibration point, check the "No Validation Required" option. This tells the system to accept any value without marking it as pass or fail. These measurements still get recorded and appear on inspection reports, but they won't cause an inspection to fail. This is useful for baseline readings, environmental conditions, or documentation that doesn't have absolute compliance criteria.

Q: Can I print inspection certificates?

Yes, the system includes comprehensive inspection reports. From any completed inspection job, use the "Print Calibration Report" action. The report includes all equipment details, calibration point results with pass/fail status, any photos captured during inspection, and the inspector's signature if provided. The report is professionally formatted and suitable for providing to customers or regulatory authorities as proof of compliance.
