Picking Types

Picking Methods in Odoo

Single Picking (default) One worker completes one entire order from start to finish.

Batch Picking One worker collects items for multiple orders at once, then sorts them into individual orders at a sorting station.

Wave Picking Multiple workers operate simultaneously, with each worker assigned to a specific warehouse zone (meats, vegetables, dry goods, etc.). Each worker gathers all items from their zone needed for multiple orders. All collected items are then brought to a central location where they're sorted into individual orders.

Cluster Picking One worker picks for multiple orders at once, but sorts items into the correct orders while picking (not afterward at a sorting station).

Key Differences:

• Single = one person, one order
• Batch = one person, multiple orders, sort later
• Wave = multiple people (by zone), multiple orders, sort later
• Cluster = one person, multiple orders, sort while picking
